Select Committee Chair nominations
#1
There are six Select Committee of the House of Commons:

Public Accounts Select Committee (Labour Chair)
Treasury Select Committee (Conservative Chair)
Foreign Affairs Select Committee (Conservative Chair)
Home Affairs Select Committee (Labour Chair)
Public Services Select Committee (Conservative Chair)
Environment, Transport, and the Regions Select Committee (Labour Chair)

The positions of chair of the committees are divided between the Government and Opposition. The Public Accounts Select Committee chair must be a member of the Opposition.

Backbench MPs may post in this thread to request a position as chair. It may only be for a committee that has been allocated to that MP's party. If no other candidate emerges within 24 hours of the request, the MP is appointed. If another candidate does enter for the same position within 24 hours, there will be a vote of all MPs. Details of how to vote will be announced whenever necessary.

As he is now a Government Minister, William Johnson is no longer a Committee Chair. The Public Services Chair position is open again.
