Career: Started life working at the docks in Liverpool, earned enough money to make his way into college and studied his passion in politics. He would get into politics at the age of 20. He would join the Labour party and word as a local campaign party through the University. He would get passionate into politics and would run for MP in 1979 after the previous Labour MP Simon Mahon retired from politics. He would go on to become a long serving MP from the constituency and would continue to hold the seat going into 2019 as a popular MP. He is tied strongly to old labor principals and is very supportive of labor unions. He would be outspoken against Brexit and call the vote "a great tragedy" for the UK.
